Senior Nurse

Kat Legge - Senior Nurse
Kat Legge RVN CertFN Senior Nurse

Kat first arrived at Vale Vets and Referrals in 2007 to complete her veterinary nurse training, qualifying from Hartpury college in 2011 with a BSc (hons) Veterinary Nursing Science. Kat started as a qualified veterinary nurse becoming deputy head nurse in 2017, before taking maternity leave and returning in 2020 as a member of our senior nursing team.

As a senior nurse, Kat oversees the internal medicine department, ordering of stock and uniform, and helps with the daily running of the nurse team. Her interests include inpatient care, particularly cuddling, feeding, providing TLC and giving the patients too many beds to ensure they are comfortable! She enjoys a variety of first opinion and referral medicine work. Kat is also a clinical coach for our student veterinary nurses.

Kat enjoys her role as veterinary nurse as she loves animals and getting to meet and care for them as if they were her own. One of her favourite parts is seeing their excitement when they return to their owners. She loves hand rearing kittens and all other aspects of feline nursing and holds the ISFM certificate in feline nursing.

On her days off, Kat likes to visit friends and family throughout the country and has two cats called ‘Spud’ and ‘Len’ who arrived at work as tiny kittens which she hand reared.
