About the role:

We have a temporary fixed term 15-month maternity cover contract to start 1st May available for a referral nurse position. 1st opinion or full rotational position will be considered if preferred by candidate. You will work a 40-hour week and a 1:8 weekend rota. As a referrals nurse you will rotate around working in cardiology, surgery and medicine with a small amount of exposure to ophthalmology. Shifts vary depending on area working however start from 7.30am with the latest finishing at 10pm.

About the practice:

We have a busy 1st opinion practice and referral hospital. We see a range of patients and cases covering disciplines in cardiology, surgery, medicine and ophthalmology. The hospital is currently going through an expansion with a new dedicated cat ward and treatment area, new dog ward, 5 new theatres and a nice big new prep room. We also have an on site CT scanner to service our 1st opinion and referral patients.

Applicant requirements:

Ideally, we require a referral nurse or someone with previous referral experience. However experienced nurses will be considered if there is a willingness to learn to work in referrals and potentially an exceptional newly qualified RVN who would prefer to rotate or work solely in 1st opinion. Any further qualifications beneficial.
