Stephanie Hovey

Steph graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2014 and spent three years in general practice before pursuing a career in small animal dermatology. She then spent the next four years in a busy small animal hospital, building up her dermatology caseload. In 2021 she completed a postgraduate certificate (PgC) in Small Animal Dermatology, and in 2022 was awarded Advanced Practitioner Status by the RCVS.

Steph joined the referrals team in May 2022. She enjoys all aspects of small animal dermatology but has a particular interest in the diagnosis and management of allergic skin and ear disease. Outside of her work at Vale Referrals, Steph also works as a clinical dermatologist with the Guide Dogs.

Steph lives in the Cotswolds with her architect husband, dog Oscar, and two cats (Rosie and Reginald). In her spare time, she enjoys running, cycling and wind surfing, and can often be found escaping to Cornwall.
