Steph Cockburn

Steph started as a student veterinary nurse in 2014 at a hospital in Berkshire and graduated from MYF college in 2017. After qualifying, Steph worked at a variety of practices seeing both first opinion and emergency out of hours cases before joining Vale Vets and Referrals in August 2022 as a referral nurse.

Since joining us, Steph has completed her Nurse’s Certificate in Anaesthesia and has become an active member of our wellbeing team, promoting a positive and supportive working environment. 

Her favourite place to be is in theatre, monitoring anaesthetics and working alongside the referral surgical team. She also enjoys performing minor surgeries such as stitching up wounds, using the skills that she learnt from completing a course that teaches veterinary nurses how to perform minor surgical procedures (schedule 3 procedures). 

Steph lives with her husband and German Shepherd Zebedee. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling to Cornwall and walking the coastline, as well as wild swimming and spending time in her outdoor ice bath!
